Happy Valentine's Day

Dear Gage and Gabe,

On February 14, we celebrated Valentine's Day. I had to work this holiday, but that didn't mean we didn't get to celebrate. Your Daddy is so sweet! He surprised me with a homemade card. Nothing like opening your lunch box to grab an apple and finding a precious card. You both helped him make the card and it was by far the best Valentine's Day gift I have ever received. Thank you! I love you all so much!!

Happy Birthday, Dows!

Dear Gage and Gabe,

On February 4, your Granny Dows celebrated a birthday. We were not able to celebrate with her on her actual birthday, but we made up for it. We had her over for dinner and cake on the 6th. We cooked her favorite dinner, spinach and feta stuffed pork roll and her favorite dessert, homemade cheesecake. She got to spend a lot of quality time with both of you and you all really enjoyed it. It was a great day.

Gabe rolls over

Dear Gage and Gabe,

I have to start out by apologizing for being a bit behind on my blogging. I promise to do a better job and make a stronger effort to blog in near real time. Please forgive me.

That being said, I'm a little behind on this one. Gabe, you rolled over from belly to back on January 13 at just a mere 5 1/2 weeks old! I was quite taken by surprise by this, as Gage, you didn't roll over until you were nearly 3 months old. I thought it was a fluke, but Gabe, you've done it several times since and I was able to get it on video. You're growing up much too fast!

Happy 2 Months, Baby Gabe

Dear Gage and Gabe,

Yesterday was February 5, so that meant Gabe, you turned 2 months old! We took you to see Dr. Chris today for your 2 month check up and Gage, you got to see Dr. Chris for your 2 year check up.
Below are the ever important growth statistics:

Gabe - 10lbs 15oz (25th percentile) and 23 1/2 inches long (65th percentile)

Gage - 31 lbs (75th percentile) and 36 1/2 inches tall (90th percentile)

You both are growing and developing well and Dr. Chris was very pleased. Gabe, I can't believe you've already gained 5 pounds since birth! It's hard to believe you used to weigh less than 6 pounds. Ironically enough, Gage, at your 2 month check up, you weighed 10 lbs, 15 oz and were 23 3/8 inches long! Gabe has caught up with your growth trends!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Gage!!

Dear Gage,

On January 28, you celebrated your 2nd birthday! We had a little celebration with the family on Sunday the 27th. You like Toy Story, so we celebrated Woody and Buzz style. We dressed you up like Sheriff Woody and decorated the house. We had dinner and then cake, ice cream, and Oreo pops. You got to blow out your number 2 candle and open presents. You got all sorts of neat toys, including a Jake and the Neverland Pirates ship, Mickey Mouse farm toy, Toy Story toys and airplanes. You got a really cute hooded towel and a pillow pet, a chalk board/easel, play tent and a tee ball set.
You were so excited about all your new toys!

 On your actual birthday, we celebrated at home as a family. I cooked your favorite meal, white chili, and got you a cupcake. We sang Happy Birthday and you got to blow out another candle. It was a very special day!

Gage's Big Boy Bed

Dear Gage and Gabe,

Since Gabe, you are still sleeping in the bassinet, Daddy turned the crib into a toddler bed for you, Gage. This will help transition you up to your big boy bed upstairs. I was worried about how you would adjust to your toddler bed, but you have done so well. You lay down for night night without much argument and you don't get out of bed until morning. Sometimes you're awake when we go check on you in the morning, but you stay in the bed until we open the door. You're getting to be such a big boy!
